What is Every Putt Counts?
Welcome to the official website of the app, Every Putt Counts. Every Putt Counts is your ultimate putting practice companion. Whether you're out on the practice green at your local golf course or in your garage hitting putts off of a putting mat, our app makes tracking your progress fun, easy, and incredibly rewarding. The app his helpful in a number of ways, but specifically it helps you to:
Track Your Stats: Play the Putt 18 Challenge and track your score over time, then track other stats like 3-putt percentage and strokes gained putting. Or track your putting make percentages by distance at home on your putting mat. Compare your practice session to your average or to the PGA Tour average.
Measure Your Progress: Visualize improvement with detailed analytics and graphs.
Improve Your Game: Spot patterns in your performance and make data-driven adjustments.
Putting makes up nearly half your strokes – why not make it your strongest skill? Practice smarter and dominate the green! Check out the rest of the site to learn more about the features and benefits of the app. Send us a video of your Putt 18 Challenge and we'll post it on our videos page!
“Every score in golf ends on the putting green, but this is where players spend the least amount of time developing skills” – Mark Sweeny, CEO – Aimpoint Golf
“If people are upset at being a 25 – 36 handicap, watch them putt. That’s the fastest area in the game to save five shots a round.” – Dan Schwabe, PGA Pro
Are you good at putting?
How would you determine whether you are a good putter or not? Is it the number of putts per round? Well, that's not an entirely accurate method because several high handicappers miss their approach shots and chip from the fringe, which puts their first putt fairly close to the pin. That doesn't mean they are good at putting, just that their first putt was much closer to the pin than someone who regularly hits their greens in regulation.
What about the number of 3-putts per round? Now we're getting closer, but do you know what percentage of 3-putts per round is good or bad? We know that pros do it from time to time, so maybe you feel justified when you 3-putt "every now and then." Also, you can still be bad at putting and miss the easy 1-putts that turn into 2-putts but that doesn't really show up on the scorecard as anything "bad", does it?
We need something more concrete. If I asked if you were a good golfer, you'd be able to tell me an objective number, your handicap. That would tell me everything I need to know about how good you are. So why isn't there anything similar that can measure your putting skill? Well, it's much harder to measure. Putting skill is largely determined by the length of putt, and that's just not practical to measure when you're on the course. And most golf GPS apps aren't precise enough to give you good putting stats. And even if they were, they would be very fiddly.
This is why we need a tool like Every Putt Counts, and specifically the Putt 18 Challenge. This provides a way to mimic your putting skill (or lack thereof) on the golf course, but measure and track stats from the safety of the practice green. We are able to use pre-determined lengths of putt, and measure your strokes gained putting stats, your 3-putt stats, and determine a score for the putting round. This score is something you can measure, share with friends, work on and improve.
Now there is finally a way to determine how good of a putter you are, which allows you to not hide behind shadow stats. Get out there, get a score, find your base level and get better!
