Instructions
Set up your shots:
You only need 3 golf balls for this game, but you'll putt a total of 18 balls - 3 balls from six different distances. For each distance, record how many times it took to sink each ball as either a 1-putt, 2-putt, or 3-putt. The total for each row should add up to 3. If it takes more than 3 attempts to hole any single ball, pick up the ball and mark it as a 3-putt.
Track and Record:
For each distance, tally your results. For example if you're putting from 10 feet and one ball sinks in a single putt while the other two take two putts each to hole, enter "1" in the "1 Putt" column and "2" in the "2 Putts" column. The app takes are of all the scoring.
Submit and Compare:
Once you finish, submit your score to see your total putts for the challenge. Check how your performance stacks up against your personal average, and even against the pros on the PGA Tour. Monitor your 3-putt percentage and Strokes Gained Putting.
Challenge Yourself: Each time you hit the practice green, aim to beat your previous score and sharpen your putting skills. Enjoy tracking your progress as you build consistency and lower your score! Click on the video below to see an example!
Randomize Shots:
The Putt 18 Challenge is much easier when you start with the short putts and progressively hit the longer putts in order, from the same direction (5 feet, then 10 feet, then 15 feet, etc.). So, if you really want to replicate the challenge of an actual round of golf, then randomize the distance, break, and direction of your putts. First, hit a 20 footer downhill, then hit a 5 footer that is a left to right breaking putt, then hit a 40 footer, etc. You'll find the challenge is much more difficult when you don't hit all of the balls from the same spot, and as a grouped bundle. Most players will see their score drop by 4-5 strokes by randomizing the shots. This is where you'll see a true test of your skills!
